Mr. Juror, Don't You Worry Your Pretty Little Head... has a piece on jury nullification. What it comes down to is that Judges and Lawyers believe Juries are too stupid to make the right decisions. They would rather not leave it in the Jury's hands at all, and would prefer the jury to rule the way they are told.

Money quote from the piece:

Finally, some judges have argued that informing jurors of their power to nullify places too much weight on their shoulders – that is easier on jurors to simply decide facts, not the complex issues that may be presented in decisions about the morality or appropriateness of laws.

People need to edjucate them selves on jury nullification, and make a quick in trial decision as to whether or not alaw is just.
