The Communists won the Cold War, folks. Get that idea clear in your mind first. The iron curtain came down because it was no longer needed. The west capitulated by adopting every plank in the socialist/communist agenda.
In case you do need clarity, read the following from the Washington Times.
Quote: "You can't beat something with nothing, and the other side has something. I don't like it, but they have it, and we have to be respectful and mindful of that," Mr. Bush said.
Translation: Lets just be good little socialists too and then we'll all get along better. We DO want to win elections, don't we?
Quote: "So our ideas need to be forward looking and relevant. I felt like there was a lot of nostalgia and the good old days in the [Republican] messaging. I mean, it's great, but it doesn't draw people toward your cause," Mr. Bush said.
Did he just say, lets be Progressive...? Oh yeah, and all the Reagan guff? Well, lets just forget that, ok? He was a nice fellow and all but lets face it, he was really just a speed bump on the road to communis...uhmmm, I mean socialis....uhmmmm...I mean, Progress!
Quote: "From the conservative side, it's time for us to listen first, to learn a little bit, to upgrade our message a little bit, to not be nostalgic about the past because, you know, things do ebb and flow."
Translation: The Bolsheviks have won. We Mensheviks need to put up a healthy loyal opposition and do our best to get along. So lets get this strait. The Bolsheviks propose the program and we respond with no, no, no...uhmmm, ok. And then everything will be fine!
The last part of the piece really makes me want to lose my cookies. Quote from the article:
The Florida governor joined former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and House Republican Whip Eric Cantor on Saturday at a small pizza parlor in Arlington for the inaugural event of the National Council for a New America (NCNA).
And then:
The NCNA - with a "national panel of experts" made up of Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Sen. John McCain of Arizona and Mr. Bush and Mr. Romney - says the goal of the listening tour is not to recast the party.
Need I say more? The spineless cowards are in charge. If you WANT to be a good Republican, go ahead. Remember the first AWB? That spineless country-clubber Bob Dole sent me a fund-raising letter in 1994, saying that a repeal would be the first order of business when the R's took over congress in 1995. Like a good little dummy, I sent him $100.00. He promptly broke his pledge when he took over as majority leader in the Senate. Then he had the gall to ask for my vote for President in 1996.
Say your prayers. DO some form of PT every day. Go to the range and train with your rifle...even if its only ten shots a week. Perform PMCS on all mission essential gear. Get with your friends and neighbors and talk through contingency survival plans. If you don't have some form of radio gear, acquire some. If you haven't ever reloaded ammo, start. Think C3L.
