Today We Celebrate A Miracle.

Today we celebrate a Miracle!

God took on human flesh in the form of Christ the Lord. Who then offered himself in SACRIFICE, the perfect sacrifice. After which the Temple was destroyed. This is NOT an accident of history.

"He shall be called Emmanuel...", God with us.

Jesus, Jesu, Yeshua, Jesse, Savior of his people.

He was born in Bethlehem, "House of Bread".

When we receive Communion, we receive Christ The Lord, as he told us.

Christ came to us during the ascendancy of the Roman Empire. Christ gave the keys of the Kingdom to Peter.

Peter means "Rock", like a chunk of Rock, like Gibraltar is a chunk of Rock, like Petra in Jordan is carved out of ROCK.

Did Christ walk up to Simon and start calling him "Rock" because he was a big man? Maybe he was thick headed? Maybe he was of a hard countenance?

No, Christ declared, "Indeed thou art the Rock. Upon this Rock I will build my church.

Peter went to Rome. The Empire gave Christianity to the World.

This is NOT an accident of History.

Learned men as far away as Babylon and Persia knew of the prophesy of the coming of Christ, the anointed one of God, and brought gifts and worshiped him.

They brought Gold, Incense, and Ointment, gifts fit for a king. They inquired of King Herod where they might find him, but they didn't give their gifts to Herod. Instead they gave them to a commoner born in the House of Bread,

A miracle happened. Today we remember. Let us turn our minds to our creator and give thanks that He chose to redeem us.

Let us also look forward to our Easter celebration, to Christ's purpose in coming to us, and remember the word which gives it all meaning, SACRIFICE.
